Hello there:

I am a new member of the Zone as of last night, due to the prompting of a friend who prodded me. I am curious of whether there are any people who still mud. I'd like to know firstly, what type of client you use, and of course, the games you play.

I have been mudding for four years, but would not consider myself an expert on the subject. I am currently playing a roleplay-encouraged mud called Lensmoor. While it has one of those graphic wilderness systems, you are able to turn it off and read the room descs which give you clues to areas. My very first mud was discworld, and I have played a star wars mud as well as a roleplay-intensive one. I love to find new muds and thoroughly enjoy the community. I have made some wonderful friends.

What do you play? Where do you play? Any tips and tricks? I use GMud, and have also used ZMud. I've not really tested Mushclient, but if I feel brave, I will! Feel free to private message or quick note me anytime!

and if you are ever interested in trying a mud together, I'm game (no pun intended) for it!

Hi Dawson:

The star wars mud that i played is a roleplaying enforced one. I don't play it much anymore. It is called Legends of the Jedi. The address is lotj.wolfpaw.net port 5000

Make it a great day!

I made scripts and other such things for Monkey Term (a mud client) to add automatic speaking through JFW, simultaneous playing of sounds, etc. A bunch of zip files and a very brief read me are here: http://fast.streammadness.com:8910/monkeyterm/

Sarila,
I have been playing muds for the past 8 years.

I have use g mud. However, I currently use the telnet program built into windows for playing muds.
the two muds I frequent are:

1. dentinmud
dentinmud.org port 3010

2. aderon
aderon.wolfpaw.net port 2222

Those muds are really fun. Neither of them are roleplay enforced.

First to chris,

I'm going to check out that mud client, it sounds quite awesome. I'm always willing to try new things, although I think I almost have the facets of GMud down. I haven't used scripts for it, but I'm so used to it after four years, I don't know if I will try or not. *grin*

For Blake

eight years! Wow! I also enjoy muds that aren't rp-enforced, but I guess I am a roleplayer at heart. I'd love to try those muds when you are online.

Thanks a bunch for posting to this thread!

I use GMud, though I don't MUD as much as I used to. I used to play a lot on MUME, and Elendor MUSH. But ever since I started college two years ago, and now that I'm working, I don't have time for it anymore. It's a shame 'cause I miss it.
